Library Mission
The Ellsworth Public Library is a vibrant and essential community resource, educating and inspiring the people we serve.
In September 2022, the Board of Trustees approved a strategic plan for the Library covering the years 2023-2026. View the full plan here:
Library Administration
The administration of the Ellsworth Public Library, a department of the City, is the responsibility of an elected Board of Trustees whose powers and duties are defined in Ellsworth’s City Charter.
The Board of Trustees is made up of five members. They are elected by the voters of Ellsworth to three-year terms. Trustees must be residents and registered voters of the City of Ellsworth.
Board Meetings
Regular Board of Trustee Meetings are open to the public and are held on the third Wednesday of every month usually at 6:30 PM on the main floor of the library. Please check the library calendar for any updates or special meetings.
