Ellsworth – Summer At The Library is here! This July and August the Ellsworth Public
Library offers free, fun-packed, and inspiring events for all ages on top of most of its regular
programs. The summer program consists of three main tracks: Adults, Kids, and Teens. Patrons
and visitors alike can expect a diverse calendar of events ranging from free ukulele classes for
kids, author talks, concerts, science and art presentations, outdoor adventure storytimes in the
Franklin Street Parklet as well as in Hancock and Lamoine, but also an interactive Murder Mystery
at the Library and a visit by Paul Doiron on August 8. Additionally, prizes can be won as part of
the library’s summer reading activities for all ages.
Through its diverse events, the summer program seamlessly weaves together themes of the past
and future, offering opportunities to reflect on and explore both while encouraging participants
of all ages to anchor themselves in the present through play, conversation, mindfulness, and
connecting with their local community and natural surroundings.
Registration is required for some events. Interested patrons and visitors can sign up on the

About the Ellsworth Public Library: Ellsworth’s historic Tisdale House has been home to the
Ellsworth Public Library since 1897. The library hosts a collection of more than 46,000 in-house
items, including books, large print books, audiobooks, movies, music CDs, and its growing Library
of Things. In 2023, the library ran 470 programs for all ages. Patrons have access to 50 print
publications and online access to streaming and download services as well as to the New York
