Kids Summer Program
The special theme for the Kids’ Summer Program and Summer Reading Activities this year is Camping with Cryptids. We have numerous daily activities planned, including storytimes at the library and beyond! We are committed to lowering access barriers to our programs and resources. Therefore, the Library is collaborating with local partners like Frenchman Bay Conservancy to reach our broad community, particularly in the Hancock and Lamoine area.
Prepare to spend time outside with us this summer! During our Riverside Family Scientists Series in cooperation with Maine Outdoor School, you’ll explore nature art, identify plants, birds, and pollinators, and learn about your local watershed.
Don’t miss our family performances every Wednesday night at 6 PM on the library lawn starting July 10! All events are rain or shine!
Teen Summer Program
Keli and Adriana have crafted a six-week program for teens, running Friday afternoons at 3 PM in the Riverview Room starting July 12. Expect a mix of crafts and author meet-and-greets. Brook Merrow will discuss her debut novel TRAPPED, and Christopher Packard will enlighten us about the mythical creatures of Maine. Plus, enjoy anime, vision boards, and trivia. Download the flyer or use our audience filter below to browse the calendar!
Adults/All Ages Summer Program
Adults can look forward to Thursday night performances at 6 PM, featuring concerts by Annie and the Rainmakers, Daryne Rockett and Heather Macleod – Celtic Duo, and the Broken Reed Saxophone Quartet. We also have visiting authors like Noa Silver, Saskia Reinholt, and Paul Doiron. Join us on August 22 for an interactive murder mystery set in a 1920s New York City jazz club during the Jazz Age.
