Icebreaker by Hannah Grace is the perfect hockey-romance to celebrate love, friendship, and so much more. I gave this book a five out of five star rating! Not only did I love the main couple, but also the side characters and their interactions as well. The representation of disabled, LBGTQ+ and BIPOC characters was done so well and truly warmed my heart. The story is heavily character driven, those who enjoy plot driven stories might not love this aspect of the book. It was truly such a fun read that delved in harder topics.
Icebreakers is told in a dual-point-of-view format. Strong willed, organized and anxiety filled Anastasia is an ice skater at the University of California, Maple Hills. Anastasia’s dream is to be on Team USA and go to the Olympics. Nathan Hawkins is a 6 ‘4, buff, superstar hockey player and the captain of the Maple Hills hockey team. The story is full of the grumpy-sunshine troup that is well known among romance readers and book lovers of all kinds! The unlikely pair are stuck together when Anastasia’s skating partner is hurt and they are forced to work together. Skating, arguments, uncomfortable dinners, wild parties and a steamy romance all ensue in Anastasia and Nate’s story! Check out Hannah Grace’s upcoming release in the Maple Hill universe, Wildfire, on October 3, 2023.
